This bi-weekly walk-and-talk therapy group offers a unique approach to supporting young adults (ages 18 - 25) struggling with social anxiety and making friends in adulthood. Rather than meeting in a traditional office, group members gather at a local walking trail and walk together at a relaxed pace, engaging in structured discussions and experiential exercises that support self-awareness, communication skills, and emotional regulation. The outdoor format helps reduce the intensity of face-to-face interaction and supports a more comfortable, grounded environment for connection. This group is especially supportive for individuals who feel overwhelmed in conventional social or therapeutic settings, and who are looking for a gentle, community-centered way to build confidence and ease in social interactions.

Each 90-minute session begins with a brief check-in and grounding exercise before the group sets out on a slow, easy-paced walk. During the walk, group members are paired with one another and provided conversation topics/prompts for the session. Discussions will explore topics such as self-compassion, anxiety management, interpersonal boundaries, social confidence, and group members’ personal interests. After the walk, the group ends with another check-in where members have an opportunity to share any insights from the group meeting.
Walk-and-talk therapy takes the social pressure out of face to face conversation. Walking side-by-side, rather than sitting face-to-face, helps create a more relaxed, comfortable environment for connection and conversation. The combination of movement, nature, and therapeutic dialogue supports emotional regulation and helps individuals feel more at ease in social interactions.

This is a rolling group that you can join at any time. We meet every other Monday from 9:30AM to 11AM at a walking trail in Rock Hill. Reach out to schedule your intake appointment and learn about our next meeting date!

You can choose to pay out-of-pocket or use insurance for this group. The self-pay rate is $40 per session.
Due to insurance requiring a diagnosis be submitted for group therapy, you must complete an individual counseling intake appointment prior to the group beginning if you choose to use insurance. Your out-of-pocket cost is determined by your insurance. Please refer to the FAQ page for more information about which insurances I accept.
Cancellation Policy: While attendance each meeting is not required, I do require 24 hour notice of absence. This ensures we will have enough participants each week to conduct the group. If you do not provide 24 hour notice of your absence, you will be billed at the self-pay rate of $40 for missing the group.
